Photography learning resources on Internet
One (and sometimes overlooked part) of developing yourself as a photographer is to study photography. "You can't learn to photograph by reading" is a half-truth, or at least understood wrongly quite often. While you need to photograph to learn to photograph, studying at least the basics is usually the best thing to do, especially at the beginning. This gives you strong foundation to build your skills. While books are a good source, Internet contains a wealth of knowledge for free.
Personally I started photography about a year ago from somewhat zero and I have found studying stuff from internet to be a great help, along with books and magazines. I've gathered here some websites that I've been using myself that I find beneficial or have found while trying to help other people and finding good links for them (I've been gathering these slowly during last year while learning myself). There are some basic guides and something a bit more advanced. Hope you can find something beneficial from h

Guide to more advanced sunset photography
This article is continuing where I left in my last part. If you have a feeling you're a beginner with sunset photography, I would suggest reading that part first. It covers mostly some basic stuff, while this article drills a bit deeper in few aspects of sunset photography. I expect that you are somewhat familiar with the concept of exposure or using ND grads, for example. A guide to better sunset photos
For experienced photographers, these things might be self evident. But what I can see quite often in dA is that there are people who would benefit from this information. The "advanced" part is there only since it's more advanced than last part. Remember, again, that these are not absolute truths, just my own opinions. If you disagree, just write a comment about your opinion.
I also want to share with you one of my favorite photographers, Marc Adamus: His landscape photos are definitely worth of seei

Guide to better sunset photos
Sunset is one of the traditional clishes in photography. Most of the people seem to think that sunset photo is just the colored sky and a small black silhouette of land or treetops on the bottom of the frame. But making really beautiful sunset photos requires much more. I've seen many excellent sunset photos here in dA and also taken bunch of them (perhaps not so excellent though) myself. Personally I view it as a challenge: how to get something interesting out of category like this.
Since sunset photos is my favorite category, I thought I would write about what you could do to improve your sunset (and sunrise) photos. This is quite basic stuff but I feel that quite many sunset photos here in dA could be improved with these ideas. I'm not going to cover all the basics of photography though. If there are some terms that you're not familiar with, I would suggest going to your local library and getting a book about the basics of photography. Or you can also read something from the interne

Sunset, or sunrise, which do you prefer?
Well, I personally can't decide between the two. They each hold such a majestic beauty within them, and yet they are so different.. I can't possibly choose a favorite.
So here, I will feature some incredible photos of sunsets, and sunrises.
Sunsets, first!

The Dynamics of Black and White
Showing the full range of what a camera can record is the dynamics. If a photo is overexposed you are seeing to much highlights and the photo looks blown out and if it is underexposed you are not seeing enough highlights and your photo is to dark. When you shoot a stop down or two you are trying to record all the highlights in the shadows and visa versa. Shooting a HDR (High Dynamic Range) photo you are trying to capture as much highlights in both the shadows and bright areas. There are several ways to do this. The best accepted way is to take multiple photos at different exposures and combine them. This brings out the best details. Another way is to take a photo and make several copies or layers and adjusting each one and then combining them.
There are many different types of software that can achieve this. It can be done in Photoshop or many other types of stand alone software. Search the internet for HDR software.
Full range of color dynamics can be seen in these photos and they rea
